1 Introduction

Parking Perspectives Limited is registered with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner and with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office as a ‘Controller’(101024 and ZB641932 respectively). This registration also covers our trading name Galle Saliman.

From time to time we will collect and process personal information in order to undertake marketing and to effectively deliver our services.

This notice explains how we use and share your information. Information may be collected on a paper or online form, by telephone, email, or by a member of our staff.

We will continually review and update this privacy notice to reflect changes in our services and feedback from service users, as well as to comply with changes in the law.

2 What information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • name
  • IP address
  • user name
  • email address
  • address
  • telephone number
  • notification preferences

3 Why we collect this information

We collect and hold information about data subjects in order to:

  • Make contact, correspond, and assign statements made as part of consultation, communications or liaisons between us
  • Undertake specific and appropriate marketing

We will be transparent about the data we collect, and collect it in a fair way whereby data subjects know, or could reasonably assume, that their data is being collected for use in the ways described.

Data will either be collected directly from data subjects, volunteered by them as part of our on-going engagement and consultation or it will be collected via publically-available sources (such as corporate or organisational websites or company literature).

4 Lawful Basis of Processing

For consultation, liaison and communications work undertaken by us on behalf of other organisations, we are reliant on some personal data, such as names and addresses, and permission to use that information, in order to make contact. For this we will rely on consent. This consent can be withdrawn at any time. In some instances, this contact may be on behalf of a public body exercising the functions of the Crown, the States, or any public authority [Paragraph 4, Part 1 of Schedule 2 (DP18) clause (c)]

For marketing, we have a legitimate interest in holding data relating to those with whom do, or would think are potentially interested in, using our services.

5 How will we use the information

We protect the privacy of data subjects and take care of the personal information in our care. This is important to us. We have in place policies and processes to protect our manual and electronic information systems from loss, corruption or misuse. Our staff are trained in the requirements of keeping data safe.

We will endeavour to keep information accurate and up to date where this is appropriate.

We do not apply any automated decision-making.

6 Retention

We will not keep it for longer than is necessary. We apply retention schedules regarding the duration of time we retain information. Information that is no longer required is disposed using a process to overwrite it electronically.

Contact information will be retained while an active period of engagement and remaining interest in retaining contact is required. The retention of data will be reviewed periodically. By default data will be kept no longer than 24 months unless as part of a periodic review there is just cause and interest to retain for a further period.

7 Data protection rights

Under data protection law, data subjects have rights including:

  • Right of access – to ask us for copies of personal information relating to you.
  • The right to rectification – to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
  • Right to erasure – to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Right to restriction of processing – to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
  • Right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability – to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have four weeks to respond to you.

8 Sharing data

Where necessary and as part of a commission, we may share the information collected as part of consultation work in Jersey with the Government of Jersey and other public authorities in Jersey (such as Parishes).

We may pass data to be processed by other organisations on our behalf. In so doing we will establish a contractual arrangement relating to the way that the data will be processed, consistent with our own requirements and having verified that sufficient measures are in place by the recipient to protect the data. These organisations will not be outside the European Economic Area.

We will be subject to the law in respect of data that we are required to disclose beyond that for which we have established permission, or where we have good reason to believe that failing to share the information would put someone at risk. We will inform affected parties that this is or has happened unless there are exceptional reasons not to do so.

9 How we store information

We share and process information within Jersey and the United Kingdom. Information is stored on computer systems within our UK office. Only authorised personnel have access to the data.

Our data back-up is hosted in the UK. We do not use web services that are hosted outside the European Economic Area.
